PTC is giving an increased focus on
facilitating new private power projects largely for Independent Power Producers
by taking steps to enter into long-term power purchase and sale agreements. This
would provide stable and long term business, mitigating the risk of volatility
in volume of business inherent in short term trading. Some of the important

In addition to the above Projects, PTC is also in the
process of signing MOUs for a number of Projects for purchase and subsequent
sale of power on a long term basis. The capacity tied-up through these MOUs
could bring substantial capacity from various projects based on domestic/
imported coal, hydro and gas based projects. Discussions are on for the
finalization of the Power Purchase and Sale Agreements for these projects. |
