PTC India Ltd.'s (PTC's) trading volumes have moved up from around 28 Million Units (MUs) in 1999-2000 to 9889 MUs in FY 2007-08. PTC started with an authorized capital of Rs 1.5 Billion and paid up capital of Rs. 60 Million.
In 2004, PTC increased it’s paid up capital base to Rs 1.5 billion through an IPO of 5.85 Crore Equity Shares. It was a reflection of the market confidence in the concept of PTC that the IPO was oversubscribed more than 42 times. In January 2008, PTC further raised its paid capital base to Rs 227.41 Crores through a Qualified Institutional Route by issuing 7.41 Crore equity shares of Rs 10 each at an issue price of Rs 155 per share. Leading Indian FIs and Investment Companies and Power Sector Majors have picked up equity in PTC in addition to the original promoters, backing a concept whose time has come.
